The project was born in October 2013 in Riga, Latvia. In 2014 and 2015 Snowision received seed investment from private investors and a seed fund Imprimatur Capital (Riga), for total amount of 65,000 EUR.
In 2015 the first industrial prototype was built and tested at Sodankyla, a meteorological station in Finland. As a result, working ability of the device was successfully demonstrated in the field.
In January 2016 we started tests together with snow management experts from Dianeige, in collaboration with Meteo-France in Grenoble, France. The purpose of tests is to prove workability of the device to local business partners and potential clients, as well as to gather statistical data about snow cover for more precise data processing and software development.
